WHO'S ROBIN?

ROBIN ROTHMAN is an actor, musical improviser, and singer/songwriter based in NYC by way of Philadelphia. She has trained in long-form and musical improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade and the Magnet Theater, where she’s been a fixture on numerous Musical Improv House Teams.

Robin is best known as the longtime host of The Magnet Musical Mixer, where she dazzles as her brassy, bold alter ego, Trudy Carmichael. The character inspired her critically acclaimed solo show, Trudy Carmichael Presents The Improvised One-Woman Show!, which has toured comedy and Fringe festivals across the U.S. and Europe—including a celebrated run at the prestigious Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Beyond Trudy, Robin’s scripted work includes playing Aunt May in Peter, Who? (NYMF), the spirited “Christmas Carol” in WEtv’s holiday campaigns, and, most recently, the roles of Cheater and Joan Rivers in Kevin McDonald Superstar (A Rock Opera) at the Soho Playhouse, performing alongside comedy legends Kevin McDonald, Dave Hill, Janeane Garofalo, and Frank Conniff.

Offstage, Robin’s greatest joys are her husband, Sean, her family, and her little gray cat, Maryloo.
